Casting begins September 2025

Here's how to join us:

Step 1: Virtual Auditions

Purchase your 2026 audition by using the button below.

Then, on or around Monday, August 18, 2025 we’ll send you an email with links to pre-recorded audition choreography from the Lexis staff. In that email will be a link to the Audition Form, which you will need to submit your videos.

Everyone will learn movement and flag. Please introduce yourself in the FLAG audition piece, show us anything extra you want us to see—your personality, skills, flair, or fun. If you want to be considered for a weapon spot, please include those videos as well. Record yourself performing, upload your videos to YouTube, and complete the audition form with your links.

🕛 Virtual Auditions are due Monday, September 1, 2025, by Midnight ET

Step 2: Callback Auditions (In-Person!)

If you're invited to callbacks, we’ll see you in the Central Kentucky area on Sunday, September 21. No extra fee—just bring your energy and focus.

We'll send out callback notifications by Monday, September 8, after we've watched all the submissions. Callback day may include new choreography and the material from the virtual round—plus the chance to dance and spin together in real space.

We can’t wait to see what you bring to the floor. Let’s get started!

Still have questions? Email Lexis.

Registration is open, and the one-time audition fee is $50.00. There is a $2.00 convenience fee added.

Audition FAQs

What should I bring?

You should bring any forms (Membership Application and Medical Form) you have completed in advance accompanied by the audition fee. We will also have the forms available at the registration desk. Additionally, you should bring water, snacks and lunch, and your weapons if you plan to spin rifle or sabre. Flags should be on a 6 foot pole and solid colored silks are encouraged. We will have several flags on hand.

What should I wear?

You should wear form fitting clothing such as dance tights, yoga pants, or other form fitting garments. Clothing should be comfortable and allow full motion of the body. Baggy, loose clothing is discouraged. You will also need athletic shoes for equipment blocks. Hair should be worn back, away from the face.

What is expected of me?

You are auditioning for an internationally competitive World Class color guard. We expect a great attitude, a strong work ethic, and "full out" performance and effort all day. You should always be prompt and on time.

When will I know if I made it?

Once call-backs conclude, final results will be sent to each applicant via e-mail the following week.

What can I expect?

We will begin with a stretch and movement class. This class will address Lexis movement basics, traveling across the floor, and a short piece of choreography. The second segment involves equipment classes.

Applicants are encouraged to choose the piece of equipment (flag, rifle, or sabre) on which they feel the strongest. The equipment class will consist of Lexis technique elements and will incorporate body movement under equipment as part of the technique. The class will conclude with a short piece of choreography. There will be a break for lunch between the two classes.
